NCWT

North Coast Woodturners was founded in 1986 and  proudly serves woodturners in Northeastern Ohio.

Welcome to NCWT

North Coast Woodturners is a woodturning club serving northeast Ohio. We meet the 1st Saturday of every month and occasionally will meet on Sunday when we have special guest turners.

Our mission is to provide education, information, and organization to people in this area interested in the art and craft of woodturning.

Meetings are open to the public and anyone may attend. When we have professional turner demos there is a small fee for non-members payable at the start of the meeting to help offset the cost of the professional turner.

Applications for membership are always encouraged.

Location

Monthly meetings are normally held at Blossom Hill in Brecksville on the first Saturday of every month. Click on the "Meetings" tab above to get a detailed listing of the meeting dates and activities.   Go to the Meeting Location page for a map and directions to the meeting

Our Next Meeting

Our next Meeting will be held March 10, 2012 at our normal meeting location: Blossom Hill in Brecksville.  See Calendar of events for more details.

Alan Carter to teach at NCWT
   by Ron Sieloff

Here is a link about Alan . Click here

For Sat. demo Alan will do #1 Turn it Thin and #2 Suspended Vessels. For Sunday class, they will be doing Turn it Thin only. You can see the handout for the class by clicking on the Green Title Line above "Alan Carter to teach at NCWT"

The students should bring a Jacobs chuck and 3/4" forstner bit with an extension if they have one to drill the starter hole for the vessel. That's the way I do it, but if they have another method, they can use that. Whatever they're comfortable with. They'll also need various turning and hollowing tools, pencils, and a ruler, preferable a zero center one. An awl will come in handy as well. I use the easy wood tools extensively so any one that has them can bring them too but they are not requirred

If any perspecctive student has chucks with the long tower or shark jaws they should bring it too
